The Grimdark Feast: A Table for Disgusting Dining

·

A revolting and evocative feast in a grimdark fantasy setting, emphasizing disgust and dark humor.

Are you tired of describing the same stale bread and watery ale in your grimdark TTRPG campaign? When the world is bleak and horrifying, the food should be too! It’s time to spice up your tavern scenes and campfire meals with some truly memorable (and disgusting) dishes.

That’s where the Grimdark Feast table comes in. This simple random generator is your new best friend for creating evocative food descriptions on the fly for games like Warhammer Fantasy or Shadow of the Demon Lord.

The Grimdark Feast Table

Just roll on each of the four tables below to construct a meal your players will never forget, no matter how much they might want to.

How to Use the Table

Using the table is a breeze. When your players ask what’s for dinner, simply roll a die for each of the four categories and combine the results into a short description.

Don’t just stop at the rolled results! Use them as a springboard for your own creativity. A Mystery Meat Pie could be an adventure hook in itself—what kind of meat is it, and why is it so cheap? A dish served in a skull might lead to questions about its previous owner. The possibilities are as endless as they are revolting.

Add Some Flavour to Your Game

This Grimdark Feast table is a fantastic tool for any GM looking to add a little extra grit and flavour to their world-building. Setting the scene is about more than just describing crumbling ruins and muddy streets; it’s about engaging all the senses. You are welcome to use it, adapt it, and make your campaign’s cuisine memorably awful.
